TCB RED LEAD PRIMER

A shop coat for metal where long intervals may elapse between shop priming and field painting such as bridges, tanks, exterior and steel structures.

PROPERTIES & ADVANTAGES – An oil modified red lead, iron oxide primer with excellent wetting properties. Provides good adhesion, withstands weathering for months and has outstanding resistance to corrosion. Solids by volume = 62.2%. Solids by weight = 85.2%

FINISH – EGGSHELL SEMI

COLOR – RED-BROWN

SPREADING RATE – 500 sq. ft at 2 mils dry film thickness.

THINNING – TCB Paint-O-Sol or Turpentine.

SURFACE PREPARATION & PAINTING SYSTEM – Iron and steel should be clean and free from all foreign materials. Sandblast or use power tools if necessary. Apply B-B Red Lead Primer brush or roller full bodied. Spraying is not recommended because of the products health hazard but if necessary to spray reduce as needed.

APPLICATION & HANDLING – BRUSH ROLLER OR SPRAY IF SPRAYING, AIR MASK SHOULD BE WORN.

EQUIPMENT CLEANUP – MINERAL SPIRITS.
